About This Blog

This is a blog to explore family history. There is no rhyme or reason to the people I write about. Usually a person or time period catches my interest as I do genealogy research. This often happens when I hit a brick wall and expand my research to include local histories and records. Sometimes it is a set of photographs or a family artifact that draws my attention.

These stories are for my siblings, my cousins, my husband's family, and now my grandchildren.

I also write stories for other people - friends, patrons of the Genealogical Forum of Oregon library, and people found in manuscripts collections and Bible records. Many of these have been published in The Bulletin of the GFO and are listed below.
